Semi-truck strikes, kills woman, Fairfield Police say

(FOX40.COM) — A woman died on Wednesday morning after she was hit by a semi-truck that had just started moving in a private parking lot, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

Police said it happened around 5 a.m. near Cadenasso Drive and Beck Ave., just southeast of Interstate 80.

Fairfield Police said officers received calls of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. When they arrived, they spoke with a driver who said he parked his semi-truck overnight and that the accident occurred as he was pulling away.
