Portion of I-24 reopens in Grundy County after crash, vehicle fire

GRUNDY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A portion of Interstate 24 in Grundy County was closed in both directions early Wednesday morning as crews responded to a crash and vehicle fire.

According to the TDOT Smartway Map, the incidents were reported just before 5 a.m. at mile marker 132 on Wednesday, April 17.

Both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the interstate were closed early Wednesday morning. At around 7 a.m. Wednesday, crews reopened one westbound lane, and both the eastbound lanes to traffic.

All lanes reopened just before 8:30 a.m., according to TDOT’s Smartway Map.

Officials have not said if anyone was injured or how the crash occurred. No other information was immediately released.
