Police track down, arrest suspect in connection to double homicide in Manchester

Law enforcement located and arrested the suspect wanted in connection to a double homicide in Adams County on Thursday, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Kimmy Rogers said there was only one suspect, who was taken into custody around 9 p.m. Thursday. He was taken into custody in the Clinton County area and is currently being held at Clinton County jail.

According to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the double homicide happened in Manchester at a home in the 200 block of West Sixth Street.

Two people were found dead in the house. A third person was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound.

The suspect was found after a search across several counties in both Ohio and Kentucky. The Maysville Police Department, Mason County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police were involved in the search.

The Maysville Police Department told residents on its Facebook page Thursday the suspect could be in the area and was armed and dangerous. The post said the suspect was armed and dangerous.

West Union Junior and Senior High School canceled all baseball and softball games. Adams County Valley Schools canceled all activities scheduled for Thursday. All district schools are closed this week for spring break.

The bureau said the investigation into the killings remains active.
