Pittsburg police arrest man accused of trading, possessing child porn

PITTSBURG, Kan. — A man is arrested after police executed two search warrants Wednesday in Pittsburg in an effort to seize electronic devices possibly used in facilitating Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

Officers with the Pittsburg Police Department say they conducted the seizures around 8:30 a.m. at two locations: 906 E. 13th St and 1126 W. 2nd St.

Timothy Reid, 34, was taken into custody and police say he was in possession of CSAM.

FOUR STATES CRIME…

The Crawford County prosecutor charged Reid with one count of sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated internet trading in child porn with a victim under the age of 14. He was booked into the Crawford County Jail on a $500,000 cash or surety bond.

Reid made his first appearance in court on Thursday. His next court date has not yet been set, and authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
