Pick-up truck fatally strikes pedestrian in intersection; driver flees
LEMON GROVE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A deadly hit-and-run in Lemon Grove left one man dead Wednesday and authorities are searching for a suspect.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred just before 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of College Avenue and Federal Boulevard.
Based on their preliminary investigation, the sheriff’s department said a pick-up truck struck a man crossing the intersection.
Despite life-saving efforts from Heartland Fire and American Medical Response personnel, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released at this time.
Someone who witnessed the collision described the suspect vehicle as a white pick-up truck, authorities said. No further information was immediately available.
