Part of Luling loses power due to reported ‘vandalism’

LULING, La. (WGNO) — Entergy took down its Luling Substation due to vandalism, causing a temporary power outage in surrounding neighborhoods on Wednesday, April 24.

According to leaders with St. Charles Parish, the substation was taken down to address an emergent situation due to vandalism.

St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office officials said that Entergy reported a “vandalism complaint and possible theft” at its substation on Queenie Drive, Bayer Plant, in Luling.

Crews will be shutting off power to Willowdale, Mimosa Park and Lakewood neighborhoods to make necessary repairs.

It is unknown how long the power will be out.
