Panga washes ashore at Windansea beach

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A panga washed ashore at Windansea Beach in La Jolla Tuesday morning.

The boat was reported around 7 a.m. near the 6800 block of Neptune Place. SkyFOX/KUSI in the Sky was overhead around 8 a.m., capturing several life vests in the area of the boat.

According to a city of San Diego public safety spokesperson, no injuries were reported and no one was around when lifeguards arrived on scene. However, authorities have not confirmed whether the boat was beached in an attempted smuggling event.

City officials reached out to a contractor to remove the boat from the shore, the spokesperson added.
