Three killed in house fire near Rose Hill

ROSE HILL, Kan. (KSNW) — A house fire near Rose Hill claimed the lives of three people Saturday morning.

Butler County Dispatch told KSN News the call came in shortly after 3 a.m. from the 15400 block of SW County Line Road in Rose Hill.

Butler County Undersheriff Daimon Cundiff said the house was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived.

“We had crews go in through the window of the bedroom because we got reports of a victim there. They were able to locate the victim and remove them from the house through the window,” Butler County Fire District 3 Fire Chief Kevin Webster said.

Three people were killed in the fire. Cundiff said one person was removed from the home and taken to the hospital, where they died of their injuries, and two were pronounced dead at the scene.

“We have investigators from the Augusta Department of Public Safety who do our investigations and the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s office was here also doing an investigation,” Webster said.

The names of the victims haven’t been released.
