One seriously injured, airlifted after boating incident in north Matlacha Pass, FWC says

One woman suffered serious injuries after a Saturday boating incident in north Matlacha Pass, requiring her air rescue to a hospital

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the victim was taken to a local hospital.

Pine Island Fire Rescue and Lee County EMS responded to the incident. Hailee Seely, spokesperson for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, said the FWC was notified of the incident on Sunday and will be the lead agency for the ongoing investigation.

The incident comes roughly one month after a boater was taken to a hospital after authorities said a boat crashed into the Sanibel Causeway.
