One person seriously injured in crash between truck and utility vehicle

A crash between a pickup truck and a utility vehicle along U.S. 150 led to one person being seriously injured Tuesday afternoon.

Illinois State Police said that at 3:54 p.m., they were called to the intersection of U.S. 150 and East Knox Road following a crash between a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2023 Polaris Ranger. ISP said that the Silverado was driving east near the intersection when the Polaris Ranger ran a stop sign along Knox Road, causing the collision.

ISP said that the driver of the Polaris was hospitalized and eventually succumbed to their injuries, but Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood disputed this account Wednesday, saying that they had not been officially pronounced dead.

The driver of the Silverado was uninjured in the crash.
