An Okmulgee woman has been sentenced to life in prison for shooting two of her children to death.

In Muskogee federal court, Amy Leann Hall, 43, pleaded guilty to two counts of murder in Indian country. She was sentenced last week.

Investigators said in the early morning of Nov. 1, 2018, Hall walked into the bedroom of her 18-year-old son and shot him in the head while he slept.

Hall then entered the bedroom of her daughters — ages 16 and 14 — and shot both in the head as they slept.

Hall’s 14-year-old daughter survived. Her 16-year-old daughter never regained consciousness and died from her injuries four days later at a hospital.

An Okmulgee County sheriff’s deputy dispatched to the scene spotted Hall’s vehicle and a pursuit began. After a chase that exceeded 110 mph, authorities caught Hall and arrested her.

“The horrific violence visited upon this family was unimaginable, and nothing will ever make things right,” U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Wilson said in a statement.  “Nevertheless, justice requires a careful consideration of all facts, including the interests of the surviving victim. Based on these considerations, the United States recommended a life sentence be imposed in this case.”
