Oak Island man reported missing found dead
A man missing since February was found dead at Oak Island.
According to a Facebook post from the Oak Island Police Department, a discovery was made after an aerial search by the town's drone operator on Wednesday afternoon. The body was found in the small pond off of E.F. Middleton Blvd., just northwest of Swain's Cut Bridge.
The Oak Island Police Department later confirmed this to be the remains of 35-year-old Craig Chamberlain, who had been reported missing on Feb. 27.
A cause of death was unable to be determined at the scene and further information will be pending an official autopsy.
