NB US-131 at 28th reopens; SB to close this weekend

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Northbound US-131 at 28th Street is open Thursday morning.

The freeway between 28th Street and Burton has been closed for several weeks as crews invest millions of dollars to improve bridges over Plaster Creek. Work also includes concrete joint repairs on US-131 from 28th Street to Pearl Street.  

Drivers need to prepare for work to now flip to the southbound lanes of US-131.

Beginning Sunday, April 28, at 7 a.m., a double-lane closure will be in place along southbound US-131 at Ann Street and continue through Burton Street.

Southbound US-131 will close between Burton Street and 28th Street.

According to MiDrive, this closure and double-lane closures are scheduled to last through May 24.
