More storms expected Wednesday afternoon

ST. LOUIS–The cold front that brought Tuesday night’s storms will stall to the south on Wednesday. Allowing another round of strong storms to impact the St. Louis region in the afternoon hours, mainly along and south of I-70 in both Missouri and Illinois.

With this round, the strongest storms are expected to be along the Missouri and Arkansas borders, east into western Kentucky. Still, everyone should be weather-aware. Strong wind gusts and up to quarter-size hail will be possible with some storms farther north.

Highs on Wednesday will be in the upper 70s. Scattered showers and storms will continue this evening and overnight. Temperatures will fall into the low 60s.

We are looking forward to a break in the storms on Thursday, but the active pattern will continue through the Memorial Day weekend holiday. There will be several rounds of showers and storms Friday through Monday, but it won’t be raining all the time.

Temperatures will not be as hot this coming weekend, with highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s.
