Minnesota man sentenced for drugs at Bradford County gas station

EAST SMITHFIELD, Pa. (WETM) – A man from Minnesota has been sentenced to serve at least 22 months in a State Correctional Facility after he was found with drugs and arrested at a Bradford County gas station.

According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, Abass Kayza Jama, 27, of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, was sentenced to serve at least 22 months and a maximum of 48 months in a State Correctional Facility on charges of reckless endangering another person, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jama was arrested for these offenses back in April of 2023 by Pennsylvania State Police at the Dandy Mini Mart in East Smithfield, Pennsylvania.

Officials say that Jama also has warrants in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for burglary in the first degree but will have to serve his sentence in Pennsylvania before being extradited to Minnesota to answer the burglary charges.
