McFarland PD introduces new K-9 team

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The McFarland Police Department is introducing the department’s newest K-9 team.

McFarland police said Officer Weiss and K-9 Khan were paired in the course.

Officer Weiss has over 25 years of law enforcement experience and canine handling experience.

Khan is a “very well trained” Dutch Malinois with a “strong work ethic,” according to the department. He recently turned 3 years old on May 1.

Police officials say Khan thrives on mental stimulation and is loyal to his handler.
