Man taken to hospital after shooting in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened on Tuesday, May 21.

BRPD said the shooting happened on McClelland Drive and Hollywood Street.

They said an officer was flagged down by a male shooting victim around 6:55 p.m. in the Shoppers Value Foods parking lot at 5900 block of Airline Highway.

EMS confirmed that they transported one person to a hospital in stable condition.

According to BRPD, the man’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police are also investigating a shooting that injured one in St. Gabriel on Tuesday.
