Man shot during argument at Downtown Memphis apartment

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was injured in a shooting at an apartment complex near the FedEx Forum Friday night, Memphis Police say.

Officers responded to the shooting at the Forum Flats at 290 Turley Street around 9 p.m.

A woman on the scene allegedly told police that her child’s father, the victim, and her brother, the suspect, had been in an argument over loud music.

Reports say that after an exchange of words, the victim struck the suspect in the face. The suspect then went into the apartment and got a gun.

The suspect shot at the victim four times.

The victim was taken to Regional One Hospital in non-critical condition but has since been released.

MPD says the victim decided not to file charges against the suspect.
