Man arrested for drug charges, hiding stolen guns in rugs

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man is being held at the Metro Jail after officers found multiple firearms wrapped up in decorative rugs.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Thierry Bwenge is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm (drug offense) after officers found drugs and the hidden guns at his home on Thornehill Drive.

An affidavit states detectives were executing a search warrant, where they found multiple firearm pieces, firearm magazines, munitions, a large amount of drug paraphernalia, three bags of uncut key fobs and a car key programmer on the second floor of the home.

Officers also found a backpack that contained two large plastic bags of psilocybin mushrooms, weighing about 300 grams, and a black key fob in the second-floor common area.

The garage is where officers found the hidden guns, according to the affidavit. Seven firearms were located wrapped up in the decorative rugs, two of which came back as stolen after a check of the serial numbers.

Bwenge is currently being held in the Metro Jail.
