NEW YORK (PIX11) – Summer is nearly here in New York City with high temperatures possibly reaching 90 degrees on Wednesday.

But when was the last time New York City has seen temps reach 90 degrees?

The last time temperatures reached 90 degrees in New York City was on Sept. 8, 2023, according to PIX11 meteorologist Byron Miranda.

Unfortunately, the warm weather is bringing unsettled storms to the tri-state area. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, according to PIX11 meteorologists.

Temperatures are then expected to drop back down between the mid 70s and 80s over the weekend.
