WORCESTER — The family of Bob Nuah is in mourning after the shooting death of a man they described as loving, kind and deeply spiritual.

His killing early Saturday is the latest casualty of gun violence in the city.

Nuah, 24, was shot to death on Allendale Street, near Murray Avenue, just blocks from Main Street and a short walk from his home.

There have been no reported arrests.

Police haven’t released the victim’s name. But in an interview with the Telegram & Gazette Monday, his two sisters, Princess and Rita Nuah, confirmed that it was their brother who was gunned down.

“Bob was a loving person, kind,” Princess Nuah said.

“Knowing Bob is loving Bob,” Rita Nuah added. “He is known and loved throughout Worcester."

Officers were dispatched to the area about 2:15 a.m. Saturday after a report of gunshots. The victim was unconscious when located, with officers giving first aid until an ambulance arrived. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

According to his sisters, Nuah could create a bond with anyone and turn strangers into lifelong friends.

The family of the victim is asking for assistance with funeral expenses via a GoFundMe page.

Monday, there was a makeshift memorial with close to a dozen candles in memory of Nuah at Fuller Family Park, which is in the vicinity of 12 Allendale St.

A 2018 graduate of Claremont Academy in Worcester, Nuah had been anticipating his upcoming graduation from a dental assistant school, his sisters said. He planned to continue schooling at Quinsigamond Community College, according to his sisters.

He was one of six siblings. Besides his two sisters, Nuah leaves his mother, an older brother and younger twin brothers.

“There are so many beautiful qualities about Bob,” the GoFundMe posting states. “As soon as he put his mind to something, it was going to be accomplished. Bob’s heart has reached wide and far.”

Nuah was an active member of Greendale People’s Church, according to his sisters.

The shooting comes less than a week after three people were hit by gunfire on Clarkson Street. At least one of the victims remains hospitalized.

In response to the recent wave of gun violence in the city, the Worcester Police Department announced Monday the establishment of the Crime Gun Intelligence Unit.

According to a news release, the unit is, “dedicated to curbing gun violence through the production of precise, timely, and actionable intelligence.

“Upon apprehension, these individuals, also referred to as ‘trigger pullers,’ will face rigorous prosecution with the primary objective of removing them from our community,” Interim Police Chief Paul Saucier said in a statement. “Collaboration is key, and the Worcester Police Department will work closely with local, state, and federal partners, including the United States Attorney's Office and District Attorney Joseph Early Jr.”
