John Joyce gets general election challenger in Pennsylvania’s 13th District

(WHTM) – After running unopposed in 2022, Republican Congressman John Joyce will face a Democrat in the 2024 general election.

Joyce will face Democrat Beth Farnham in Pennsylvania’s 13th District race to represent 12 counties, including Adams, Bedford, Franklin, Fulton, Perry, and Juniata counties.

Farnham recently served on the Conewago Valley School District Board and is a member of the Adams County Democratic Committee.

She acknowledges being a registered Republican for over 25 years but now describes herself as “a champion of progressive causes” and as someone “who (recognizes) that Black Lives Matter, women’s rights are human rights, no human is illegal, love is love, gun sense saves lives, and science is real.”

Farnham outlined her platform with issues including protecting democracy, reproductive freedom, gun safety, immigration reform, healthcare, and public education.

Joyce has served in Congress since being elected in 2018. With a biology degree from Penn State and a medical degree from Temple University, Joyce worked in Altoona with his wife as a dermatologist before running for Congress.

“In Washington, D.C. and at home in Pennsylvania, I’m fighting for you and for our commonsense, conservative values,” says Joyce’s campaign website.

Pennsylvania’s general election is November 5.
