Hazing allegations against Shippensburg University fraternity were ‘unfounded’

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (WHTM)– A Shippensburg University fraternity is no longer on suspension after an investigation into allegations has been closed, school officials confirmed.

The hazing allegations against Theta Xi fraternity were “unfounded” and their interim suspension has been lifted, a spokesperson wrote in an email.

“The investigation has concluded and the allegations of hazing were unfounded,” the spokesperson wrote. “The interim suspension issued to Theta Xi during the investigation has been lifted.”

The school learned of the allegations that were first reported by the school’s newspaper The Slate in February and put the fraternity on interim suspension, meaning that members could not participate in any on-or off-campus activities.
