Groundbreaking held for 60-unit apartment complex in Rogers

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — An upcoming mixed-income development in Rogers aims to help address the area’s affordable housing issue.

Olive Street Apartments in Rogers will be a 60-unit mixed-income development meant for people earning less than Northwest Arkansas’ median income, which, according to United States census data, was around $73,000 a year in 2022.

The complex held a groundbreaking ceremony on March 25 to kick off construction and welcome the new addition to the community.

Robert Burns with The Walton Family Foundation says this development is a way to help make Northwest Arkansas more vibrant and inclusive.

“Housing is a huge need. As we’ve seen the need for more regional affordability, we’re looking for creative ways to help organizations like Community Development Northwest Arkansas finance projects like this,” Burns said.

Olive Street Apartments is near the Razorback Greenway trail and within walking distance of shopping areas and Olive Street Park. It’s expected to be completed in fall 2025.
