Groundbreaking ceremony for new Farmersville fire station
FARMERSVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Farmersville public safety officials, city leaders and community members came together on Friday for a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the city’s new fire station.
The mayor and the city were also presented with a certificate from the California State Senate.
“This is a big change for Farmersville,” said Mayor Tina Hernandez. “God continues to bless Farmersville and we just keep growing.”
Hernandez says if it wasn’t for the community, the city would not be where it is today.
Tulare County Supervisor Larry Micari, who was also in attendance, says he started his career in Farmersville back in 1984 and he feels like he is at home again.
“Now we’re here at this fire station, when I came here it was at Front and Magnolia. It was a two-base station and the engines wouldn’t fit inside,” said Tulare County Supervisor Larry Micari.
Micari adds that the new fire station represents the stride and progress of Farmersville.
