Graduations guide: A list of ceremonies for Henderson, Polk, Transylvania counties

The end of the school year for area schools is quickly approaching, and graduation for the Class of 2024 is just weeks away.

Henderson County schools will have seven graduation ceremonies, all on the same day (May 24), and in Transylvania County, there will be ceremonies for Brevard High School, Rosman High School and Davidson School. In Polk County, the lone graduation will be for Polk County High School.

Listed below are the time, date and place of graduation ceremonies for Henderson, Transylvania and Polk counties.

Henderson County

All ceremonies will be on May 24

  • Henderson County Early College, 5 p.m. at Blue Ridge Community College

  • Hendersonville High School, 6 p.m. at Hendersonville High

  • North Henderson High School, 6 p.m. at North

  • East Henderson High School, 7 p.m. at East

  • Henderson County Career Academy, 7 p.m. at Blue Ridge Community College

  • Veritas Christian Academy, 7 p.m. at Fletcher Baptist Church

  • West Henderson High School, 7:30 p.m. at West

Polk County

  • Polk County High School, 7 p.m. May 24 at Polk's football field

Transylvania County

  • Brevard High School, 6 p.m. June 7 at Brevard Music Center

  • Rosman High School, 10 a.m. June 8 at Brevard Music Center

  • Davidson River School, 10 a.m. June 6 at Brevard Music Center

Henderson County doesn't do a final count of the number of graduates until the final week of school. For Transylvania County, the class sizes are 170 for Brevard, 51 for Rosman and five for Davidson River School, according to TCS public information officer Tessa Brown. Polk will have 131 graduates, according to Principal Michelle Bean.

Following graduation, schools will begin thinking about the 2024-25 school year, which will start in August. For Henderson County the first day of school will be Aug. 12. For Transylvania County, it will be Aug. 26, and for Polk County it will be Aug. 12.
