Good food = good mood: Samantha's Grill to open in Oakwood Square

Heidi Kiefer, owner of four Samantha’s locations, has announced the location of the her fifth − Samantha’s Grill at 2644 Easton St. NE in Plain Township.

The new location in Oakwood Square will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as cocktails. It also will feature an ice cream parlor in partnership with Pav’s Creamery.

Kiefer said longtime friend and supporter the late Sam Sliman said Oakwood Square would be a good fit after the plaza's owners reached out in 2019.

“I was in the middle of construction at my Samantha’s Grill in Louisville, so the timing just wasn’t right,” Kiefer said.

Over the summer, Kiefer said she ran into Grant Glitz, one of the owners of Oakwood Square, at an outdoor event. “The rest is history, and the timing must be right,” Kiefer said.

“I have so many great things planned for this new location at Oakwood Square. Samantha’s will have an ice cream parlor and coffee shop, and we are happy to be a proud partner with Pav’s Creamery.”

Although Keifer said she’d love to be open by Memorial Day, she’s a realist. “Before July 4th is probably more realistic,” she said with a laugh. “I work well under pressure, and I am excited.”
