Free screening of Holocaust documentary ‘Nobody Wants Us’ at MacArthur Memorial

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The MacArthur Memorial is scheduled to host a free screening of the documentary film “Nobody Wants Us” on May 9 at 7 p.m.

Directed and produced by Laura Seltzer-Duny, the movie features the story of a Jewish refugee who fled the Nazi invasion to find safety in the U.S. Through the efforts of the Jewish community in Hampton Roads, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and a State Department employee, the refugees safety made it to Norfolk. Seltzer-Duny is an award-winning PBS documentary filmmaker, according to a release.

The screening was done in partnership with the Holocaust Commission of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged.
