Florida woman breaks into house, hugs homeowner, jumps into pool, police say

NAPLES, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida woman was arrested Wednesday after police said she broke into a Naples home, hugged the homeowner and then jumped into a swimming pool.

Naples police said a 79-year-old woman called 911 to report that a woman had broken into her home while she was inside it.

The suspect, later identified as Natalie Slavek, entered the house and then gave an unwanted hug to the homeowner, according to police.

“Slavek then made herself at home by sitting on a chair in the living room, resting on a bed for several minutes, then proceeding to jump in their pool, all before leaving the residence,” the Naples Police Department said.

Officers said Slavek lives in unincorporated Collier County and is currently on state probation for a 2020 offense of resisting an officer with violence.

“Slavek, who operates the social media company “Natalie Knows Naples”, didn’t ‘know’ the residents of the house she unlawfully entered, and as a result, was placed under arrest for trespassing in an occupied structure, a violation of Florida State Statute 810.08(2)(b), on May 15, 2024,” the police department said.
