First Responder Friday: Lt. Chris Jackson

LAURINBURG, N.C. (WBTW) — It’s time for another edition of First Responder Friday as News13 honors Grand Strand and Pee Dee first responders.

This week’s nominee is Lt. Chris Jackson with the Laurinburg Police Department. Those close to him say he’s always willing to help anyone in need.

Jackson is often seen interacting with groups of kids while on duty, serving as a role model for the younger generation. He actively organizes the annual “Back the Blue Ride,” which raises money for Scotland and Richmond Counties’ “Shop with a Cop” program.

Jackson is always giving back to the community and has also won the “Angels Among Us” award.

In a statement from Laurinburg Police Chief Mitchell Johnson he said in part, “Lt. Jackson has been an important part of the mentoring and building of relationships in our community. A true treasure to the community. We pray that god blesses his efforts even more.”

If you would like to nominate someone for First Responder Friday, send an email to NEWS@WBTW.COM. Tell us why you chose that person and attach a photo.
