Fire breaks out at Wilkes-Barre Township gas station

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Smoke could be seen for miles near a gas station in Wilkes-Barre Township.

28/22 News had a crew in the area at the time of the fire that said they saw the smoke and flames near the Sunoco Gas Station in Wilkes-Barre Township around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday night.

Fire department hosts open house in Wilkes-Barre

There is no word on what started the fire or if anyone was injured.

Wilkes-Barre Township police released on their Facebook page that due to the fire, the traffic light on Coal Street and Highland Park Boulevard is out and crews have the scene blocked off while officials investigate the cause.
