Video shows the scene from the deputy’s dash camera.

K-9 Zeppelin was walking on a leash and without warning, jumped over the rail.

Deputy Lauren Donaldson tightened her hold on the lead and braced her feet against the railing. A few moments later, she reached over the guard rail and pulled Zeppelin back to safety.

“Lauren’s rescue of her beloved partner is even more amazing when you consider that ‘Zeppelin,’ a Belgian Malinois weighs approximately 75 pounds and Lauren weighs 122 pounds,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.

The fall was 75 feet over the bridge and would likely have killed the K-9, the sheriff’s office said.

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said that he was “still mad at Zeppelin for giving us all a huge scare but am so grateful that he is okay and unharmed!”
