Deal ends injunction against Loris-area club with violent past, prohibits drinking establishment on property for 3 years

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office has agreed to drop its case against an unlicensed “makeshift” nightclub in the Loris area after reaching an agreement with one of the property’s owners that prevents drinking establishments on the property for three years.

A judge had granted a temporary injunction to close Turk’s Place in June 2022, but the solicitor’s office and Veronica Jackson, one of the heirs of the property, agreed to the dismissal in an order filed Thursday in Horry County Common Pleas Court.

The order prohibits the owners of the property, which is located in the 4000 block of Redenbo Drive, from being used as a nightclub or any type of drinking establishment for three years. Veronica Jackson lives on the property, which, according to the order, can still be used for other types of business as long as Horry County zoning regulations are followed.

Solicitor Jimmy Richardson’s office began efforts to shut down the bar in January 2022, citing three murders and innumerable calls to police to police about other criminal activity at the club.
