The Ferrari Testarossa is a hot collector's item right now. Prices for the vintage 12-cylinder exotic are on the rise, and it's only a matter of time before this model hits the realm of the truly ridiculous. This particular example is a rare targa-top version built by Richard Straman, the same man responsible for making custom Testarossa convertibles. You should buy it.

Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.

Offered for sale by European Exotic Center in Clearwater, Flordia, this targa-top Testarossa is one of just a handful in existence. Unlike the more well-known Straman-built convertible conversions, this targa model retains most of its original body panels and profile shape. With the removable roof in place, it looks just like a normal Testarossa, save for a few more seams. The wheels, paint, and interior look to be in good condition, but the front splitter has probably seen better days. According to the listing on the seller's site, the car is due for a major service, which likely means a five-figure repair bill on top of the sale price for whoever takes ownership. At least the clutch is brand-new.

European Exotic Center doesn't specify what sort of structural rigidity modifications were done to the car post roof-removal-only that it comes with service records since new. Considering the car's rarity, we're not too surprised by the $99,995 asking price. Then again, those looking for originality will certainly look elsewhere.

And with 38,714 miles on the clock, this car is one of the highest-mileage Testarossas on the market right now. Is it worth the price? Well, considering the upward trend of '80s and '90s exotics, it just might be. Check it out here on European Exotic Center's site.
