Cropduster airplane hits power lines in southern Kansas

SUMNER COUNTY (KSNT) – A pilot narrowly avoided injuries after hitting power lines with his crop duster airplane in Sumner County.

At 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, a man was crop-dusting with a 1998 Air Tractor about 5 miles northeast of Wellington when he hit some power lines. The power lines were damaged, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) crash log.

The pilot was able to land the airplane at a nearby municipal airport. The pilot was uninjured and the airplane was undamaged, according to the KHP.
