New Costco proposed in Cumberland County

SILVER SPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — A new Costco Wholesale store could soon be constructed in Cumberland County.

On Wednesday, March 28, Costco Wholesale Corp. received conditional approval from Silver Spring Township’s Board of Supervisors for the construction of a new Costco location on the corner of Roaring Fork Road and Hemp Road, right off of Route 11 across from Cumberland Valley Highschool

It’s important to note that this conditional approval is contingent upon staff and engineer review, along with comments.

According to submitted land development plans, the new Costco store would rest on a 23.65-acre lot and would be 161,163 square feet in size.

These plans also indicate that the new store would feature a proposed 805 parking spaces along with a new fueling facility.

Silver Spring Township says that this new Costco has the potential to open its doors in the Summer of 2025.
