New convenience store opens on Lake Avenue

Apr. 25—ASHTABULA — The IN N OUT convenience store was scheduled to open this morning at 2421 Lake Avenue, the former location of Burrito Loco.

Owner Peter Patel picked the location because of high traffic. He said that this type of store is what employees at ACMC — across the street — needed.

The store will offer Chester's Chicken and Hunt Brothers Pizza.

Inside, employees were being trained by a representative from Chester's.

"Delicious food in interesting places is one of the things we try and go by," said Chester's Chicken Territory Performance Manager Eric Sywak. "We know the traffic in the area is going to be good. Peter is a very active owner, doing training with us the whole week. We look for franchises who will be partners with the brand. The stores that are more successful are usually ones that they're involved in."

The store will open at 6 a.m. and feature fresh breakfast options.

"Many of our caregivers start at 7 a.m.," said Tina Stasiewski, ACMC Vice President of Business Development.

"Having an early morning option right across the street will definitely be convenient for them."

Patel knows that ACMC workers will also be looking for healthy options.

"We're going to have a smoothie machine with 45 different smoothies, all natural," said Patel. "It's great for the healthy environment of the hospital."

Patel owns four different local convenience stores in Ashtabula County.

"It's a nice and supporting community," Patel said. "We'd like to keep growing."
