Chipotle is planning a Hope Mills location. Here’s where you may soon be able to order a burrito

Mexican fast-casual chain Chipotle is planning its first Hope Mills location.

Town officials approved plans for a 2,492-square-foot store at 2814 Town Center Drive, according to an April 15 town manager’s report.

Chipotle would be one of two restaurants in the proposed structure on a vacant 1-acre parcel next to Taco Bell and across from the Rockfish Commons shopping center.

Also shown in the plans submitted to the town is a 2,492-square-foot space for an unnamed restaurant, the occupant of which town spokesperson Coronda Regan said is not yet known to Hope Mills staff.

Chipotle, which has more than 3,000 locations nationwide, is not the only chain eyeing the former mill town. Culver’s is planning a South Peak Drive store, and Wawa may come to Chicken Foot Road.

Project developer Mount Oak Capital Partners, based in Texas, did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday.
