Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen pulled off a hell of a drift today through turn nine at Monza during Free Practice Two for the Italian Grand Prix.

The Variante Ascari chicanes are a set of high-speed corners that precede the back straight, which require a perfect amount of accuracy to get right. Verstappen turned in a little too much, which shot the back of his car out. What resulted was a sweet (but brief) slide. For an F1 car, this is a whole lot of angle. How he didn't lose it is beyond us.

This isn't the first time we've seen Verstappen save a very sideways car. He had a phenomenal save back in 2014 at the Brazilian Grand Prix during Free Practice, and another catch in the wet during the actual race in 2016. Clearly, the 19-year old knows what he's doing, which is why Mercedes is rumored to want him to join its team ASAP.
