RCMP say a Prince Albert officer pulled over a vehicle near Shellbrook, Sask., last week and wanted to talk to the person at the wheel.

It turned out there was no wheel.

According to an RCMP news release, the steering wheel was missing and the driver was using vise grip pliers to guide the vehicle.

The driver was ticketed and asked to get a vehicle inspection.

The April 17 wheel-less driver incident was part of the Saskatchewan RCMP's weekly roundup for the week of April 15 to 21.

Also in that roundup:

  • April 14: The RCMP's explosive disposal unit responded to a report received by Outlook RCMP of unused explosives on a rural property near the town. They disposed of 10 sticks of bulk explosives.
