Boating on Detroit Lake deemed ‘dangerous’ due to an excess amount of logs
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Boaters are advised to use caution on Detroit Lake this weekend due to a large number of logs floating around the reservoir.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is asking everyone visiting the lake between May 10 and May 12 to be cautious of the logs.
“With the nice weather, full lake, and marinas being open we anticipate a lot of boat activity on Detroit Lake,” the sheriff’s office said. “There are a lot of logs and debris in the lake right now which can be very dangerous.”
