Biddulph road resurfacing work begins in June
Road resurfacing work in Biddulph will begin on Monday 3 June, Staffordshire County Council has announced.
The £860,000 scheme on the A527 Meadows Way between the Wharf Road roundabout and Tunstall Road roundabout is expected to take about four weeks, and will involve lane closures.
The works are part of a wider £50m of investment in road improvements by the county council.
The authority's cabinet member for strategic highways, Mark Deaville, said: “I’m sure people travelling along this route will notice the world of difference once the resurfacing is complete."
Weather permitting, overnight road closures will be in place for both roundabouts from 21 June until 1 July so that carriageway resurfacing can take place at minimum disruption to the public, the council said.
Signposted diversion routes will be in place for properties in the area and access to surrounding roads for residents will be maintained for most of the scheme and letters with further information will be sent to affected properties in the area.
Mr Deaville said: “The heavy traffic along Meadows Way in Biddulph has taken its toll on the road."
“Our crews always make great efforts to ensure that works are completed at minimum disruption to residents but, as with any major road schemes, some traffic delays can be expected.
“I would like to thank people in advance for their patience while this essential work takes place.”
