Christoph Baumgartner scored the reportedly fastest ever goal in international football after six seconds in Austria's 2-0 friendly match victory in Slovakia on Saturday.

RB Leipzig's Baumgartner received the kick-off from Michael
Gregoritsch, ran past several Slovakia players and fired into left corner. Andreas Weimann wrapped up matters in the 83rd minute in Bratislava.

"Of course it is really cool, I am very happy. That I hit the ball in this way and that it appears to be a world record is sensational. I am mostly pleased that I could help the team," Baumgartner said.

The match was a tune-up game for both sides for this summer's Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.
