Alexander Co retired K9 Mick passed away

ALEXANDER COUNTY (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Retired K9 Mick has passed away, Alexander County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook Friday.

The post said the K9 Mick began working with his handler Lt. Timothy Simms in October of 2013 and was medically retired in December of 2021.

Mick had numerous narcotic seizes across Alexander, Wilkes and other surrounding counties. His favorite activities were playing ball and barking.

He was the 2nd K9 to join the office.
