Afternoon storms likely Saturday; break from the rain Sunday while staying humid

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Heading into the holiday weekend we will keep the humidity and warm conditions around along with adding a few chances of showers and storms. Partly cloudy conditions tonight with mild temperatures in the low 70s. A few lingering showers could be possible.

Saturday we will likely see a system drop out of the upper air pattern into the southeast riding an outflow boundary left from the previous day. This thunderstorm complex will likely have a brief gusty wind threat as it pushes through. There is a low end severe weather threat, but do not anticipate anything widespread.

Sunday will see drier conditions; however, the heat and humidity does not go anywhere in the forecast until the front passes through Monday/Tuesday. We will likely see more showers and storms with isolated coverage.

Temperatures through the forecast will hover just north and south of 90 degrees for afternoon highs. Morning lows will be very mild with above average readings with lows near 70s through Tuesday. End of the forecast will see lower humidity levels and overnight lows becoming more seasonal.
