38-year-old seriously injured in Shawnee Co. crash

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A 38-year-old man was seriously injured after a rear-end crash on U24 Highway.

At 4:20 p.m. on Monday, the 38-year-old was driving a 2006 Dodge Dakota west on U24 and slowed down for congested traffic. A 53-year-old man driving a 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 hit the back of the Dodge Dakota, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) crash log.

The 38-year-old was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The 53-year-old had no apparent injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to the KHP.
