A 26-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to his head Friday night on Delores Street in Cahokia Heights.

Cahokia Heights Detective DeMarius Thomas said Saturday police received a call reporting shots fired and a man down at 7:36 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived at the scene on Delores Street, they found the man with the gunshot wound, Thomas said.

The victim, whose identity was not released, was rushed to an area hospital for treatment. Thomas said no other medical information was available at this time.

Thomas said a 64-year-old suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

Thomas said police believe a family dispute led to the shooting.
