14-year-old boy in hospital after North Lawndale shooting

CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy is in the hospital after he was shot in the city’s North Lawndale neighborhood early Wednesday evening, according to the Chicago Police Department.

CPD said officers were called to the 1800 block of South Fairfield Avenue around 4:05 p.m., where their preliminary investigation found a 14-year-old male was exiting a vehicle when he was shot in the back by an unknown offender.

The 14-year-old boy was taken to Stroger Hospital, where police say he is in good condition.

Police have no one in custody.
