1 evaluated for smoke inhalation as crews battle 3-acre fire, Horry County Fire Rescue says

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the 700 block of Mill Pond Road in the Galivants Ferry area Thursday afternoon for a reported three-acre fire.

One person was evaluated by EMS for smoke inhalation, but was not transported to the hospital, HCFR said.

Crews are currently working to contain the fire and the South Carolina Forestry Commission is on the scene assisting, HCFR said.

People are advised that smoke will be visible in the area for an extended period of time.
