Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott are officially moving to the next level of their relationship: marriage!
On August 14, the two announced their engagement with a photo together showing off Deschanel's beautiful and unique ring on Instagram.
Deschanel and Scott shared the image together along with the message, "Forever starts now!!! 🥰♾️🥰."
Many of their famous friends have already expressed well wishes and congratulations. New Girl co-star Hannah Simone wrote, "I LOVE YOU!! This is so wonderful 🇨🇦 ❤️."
Mindy Kaling chimed in, "Omg!!! So amazing Zooey! Congrats!! ❤️."
Billy Eichner added, "Congratulations guys!!! ❤️."
The big news comes after four years of dating, as Deschanel and Scott were first romantically connected in late 2019.
The two met while appearing on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke in August of that year, along with Scott's brother, Drew Scott, and Deschanel's sister, fellow actress Emily Deschanel.
Deschanel and Scott became Instagram official that October, around a month after Deschanel and film producer Jacob Pechenik announced their divorce after four years of marriage.
Before Pechenik, Deschanel was married to Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard between 2009 and 2012, while Scott was previously married between 2007 and 2013 to Kelsy Ully.
Earlier this month, Deschanel and Scott celebrated their fourth anniversary together, with the couple posting sweet tributes on social media. At the time, the actress wrote about her love, "4 years since I met this freaking dreamboat. I love him more every day. I'm forever grateful!"
Now, what better way to commemorate the milestone than with an engagement?
While Deschanel is an actress well-known for roles in projects like New Girl and 500 Days of Summer, most people know her soon-to-be-husband from his multiple shows on HGTV alongside his brother, most notably Property Brothers.
Deschanel and Scott have not shared any details about their upcoming nuptials yet.
